Midland Acres welcomes visitors on July 11

by Jessica Schroeder, assistant fair liaison, the U.S. Trotting Association

Columbus, OH — Midland Acres, the largest full-service Standardbred horse breeding facility in Ohio, is hosting an Open House from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 11. Stations around the farm will allow visitors to see mares and their young foals, brush and take photos with a horse, be part of a mock winner’s circle presentation, decorate their own horseshoes and learn how horses are raised and trained for their careers in Standardbred harness racing.

Attendees may enter to win free admission to the Clinton, Fayette or Ross County Fairs, t-shirts or key chains and enjoy refreshments. The staff of Midland Acres and the United States Trotting Association will be on hand to answer questions about horse care, racing and breeding horses.

The open house is being held as a preview of the harness racing that will be held at the Clinton County Fair in Wilmington on July 12 and 13, the Fayette County Fair in Washington Court House on July 31 and August 1 and the Ross County Fair in Chillicothe on August 9.

Midland Acres is located on the southeast side of Bloomingburg at 119 Midland Ave. For more information on the Midland Acres Open House, or to volunteer, contact Jessica Schroeder at (877) 800-8782, ex: 3212 or jessica.schroeder@ustrotting.com.
