Midwest Mixed Sale set for Nov. 23 in Indiana

from The Midwest Auction Co.

Shipshewana, IN — The Midwest Auction Company is pleased to announce that dates have been set for the annual Midwest Mixed Sale.

Now in its second year, the sale is set for Friday (Nov. 23). The sale will once again be held at the Michiana Event Center in Shipshewana, Ind.

With the inaugural sale deemed a success, including breeding mares selling for $52,000, $50,000, etc., and several race horses selling for more than $40,000, sale officials are looking for growth this year.

“We catalogued 120 head last fall and ended up taking another 20 in a supplement,” stated sale co-manager Susan Garrels. “We’re looking for that number to grow significantly this fall based on what we’re hearing out there and gauging the interest level.”

Sale co-manager Jeff Fought added, “The Indiana, Ohio and overall Midwest program continue to grow tremendously. The need for strong breeding stock is moving to a new level each year and racehorses will continue to be in high demand. We saw a lot of consignors give us a few to sell last year to see what would happen, and we feel we proved what this sale is capable of.”

The sale will again offer some unique features, such as 50 percent of proceeds being paid the day of the sale, up to date pedigrees and racelines and HD streaming online video.

The entry deadline will once again be Oct. 1 and horses may be entered online at www.MidwestAuctionCo.com.
