Milby wins four at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Driver Frank Milby had four wins to highlight the Wednesday night (Nov. 14) card at Rosecroft Raceway.

Milby started his big night in race two as Stakeout rocketed from the pocket to overtake pacesetter In Recrod Time (William Greene) in 1:54.2. In race four, Redwood Again brushed to the lead after the half and rolled to a non-winners of one score for Courtney Books and trainer Rusty Cox. Race five saw Milby win with Delicate Arch for William Simmons Sr. who owns and trains the 3-year-old Pet Rock filly. Milby posted a wire-to-wire score with Tom’s Treasure for Tom Cooke and trainer Roger Hans.

Trainer Phillip Jasper won the first two races as Brian Burton steered Laurel’s Lea ($16.60) first over to a win, holding off Sam’s Lucky Lady (Jared Moyer) and Jesse’s Diamond (Roger Plante) in the opener. Burton netted a second win with Tidewater Titan for William Spicer.

Plante took two picture in the Rosecroft winner’s circle, posing with Quarter Til Eight for Lesley Stayton and John Bennett. Plante also finally got Endless Summer home, who won for the second straight week after dropping her first 25 races of the year. She won in a lifetime best 1:53.4 despite being under attack on the lead from Shaker Rei the entire mile. It gave Cooke an owning double.
