AROUND THE MEADOWLANDS FOR FEBRUARY 19, 2006

Stonebridge Kisses, who fell in Friday night’s Cape & Cutter, the tenth race, suffered a left hind leg gash that required stitches. “At least it is early enough in the year that she can either be bred or come back later in the year to race,” said trainer Mark Ford. “We’ll have to see how things go.”

Sadly we note the passing of two members of the Meadowlands family – Herb Daniels and Mike Quinn , both this weekend after long illnesses. Daniels, of East Brunswick, New Jersey, was the former director of admissions at the Meadowlands. Quinn, of Millburn, New Jersey, was president of Quinn Comm, which provided communication services at the racetrack and other sporting events in the 1970s and 1980s.

Construction of a rail station adjacent to the Meadowlands’ stable area has required a reconfiguration of the interior stable area roadways. A revised backstretch map is available on the Meadowlands website: http://www.thebigm.com/horsemenInfo.asp .
