Milligan’s School equals world record

Eight-year old trotter Milligan’s School, trained by Stefan ” Tarzan” Melander and with Ulf Eriksson in the bike, won the Axevalla Löppning over 1-5/8 mile in 1:55.1 (mile rate) at Axevalla racetrack in Sweden and equaled the world record held by Swedish trotter Very Kronos.

Milligan’s School gave a very strong performance as he had to trot outside Handsome Brad with Carl Johan Jepson from start – the first fraction was clocked in what could be compared to 26.3f at a quarter of a mile.

Milligan’s School seemed to be in a class of his own and won by open lengths followed by the French trotter, Ble du Gers, who was eight lengths behind.

Milligan’s School earned $17,000 dollars for the win and now has earnings of just over 15 million Swedish Kroner – or $1.7 million U.S. dollars.
