Millionaire Marloe Hanover ekes out win in Meadows distaff; Palone wins five

Washington, PA — Millionaire Marloe Hanover was all-out to do it, but she held off the late charge of Blue Ivy to capture Thursday’s (Nov. 16) $21,200 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

While Marloe Hanover blitzed the opening panel in :26, Blue Ivy was stuck outside before the break of Sweet And Feisty allowed her to slip into the pocket. They raced that way until mid-stretch, where Blue Ivy began to nibble into the lead. She fell a nose short, and Marloe Hanover prevailed for Dave Palone in 1:50.4. C Is For Cookie rallied for show.

Marloe Hanover narrowly prevailed in Thursday’s Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace at The Meadows, giving driver Dave Palone one of five wins on the 13-race card. Chris Gooden photo.
