Forest Lake, MN — On Saturday (Feb. 23) the horsemen from the Northern Sun will gather at Running Aces Harness Park for the Minnesota Harness Racing Inc. annual meeting and awards banquet.

Registration will start at 12 noon and the annual business meeting of MHRI will begin at 1 p.m. There are four directors up for election this year and all nominees will address the membership. Robert Farinella, the general manager and Gregg Keidel, director of racing at Running Aces will both speak to the group as well as Jesse Overton, the chair of the Minnesota Racing Commission.

There will be time devoted to a group discussion on growing the Minnesota bred program. This should be a spirited and lively dialogue and hopefully many productive ideas will come out of the conversation.

Tony Alagna, one of North America’s leading trainers, will be our much anticipated evening speaker. Divisional honors from the 2012 summer racing season at Running Aces will be given, along with the top trotter, pacer and driver from the fair division.
