Minnesota Racing Commission reopens search for Executive Director

from the Minnesota Racing Commission

Shakopee, MN — At the request of the governor’s office, the search for a new executive director of the Minnesota Racing Commission has been re-opened.

The position was posted this week and will remain open to qualified applicants through June 27.

Selection will be based upon a resume-based, skill-matching process coordinated for the Commission and governor’s office by Minnesota Management & Budget.

The director position has been vacant since October 2012 when the incumbent retired. By statute the governor selects a director from a list of names submitted by the Commission.

The Minnesota Racing Commission is a state agency with nine year-round employees and additional seasonal employees that support a nine member board appointed by the governor to regulate pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing and card club operations at two licensed racetracks in Minnesota.

For more information, contact the Commission at 952.496.7950.
