Misty Coast wins Harrington DSBF final

Harrington, DE — Stephen Messick’s Misty Coast ($2.10, Art Stafford Jr.) was a 1:55.3 winner in the $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) 2-year-old pacing filly final on Tuesday (Oct. 11) at Harrington Raceway.

The Powerful Mist filly controlled the pace throughout and was a comfortable one-length winner over Direct Mist and Ezycure. Misty Coast notched her fourth straight win and now has won five of seven races in her career for trainer Les Givens.

The $20,000 2-year-old filly pace consolation was won by John Wagner’s Beingbadsomewhere ($3.20, Victor Kirby) in 1:58.4. The Badlands Hanover filly achieved her first career win in her 10th lifetime start.

In the overnight feature, A Delightful Act N ($13.00, Stafford) triumphed in the $50,000 Kathleen Cain, for pacing mares, in 1:53.3 over Cruzinforavictory and Feelin Sweet. The Josh Parker trainee set most of the fractions in her fifth win of year.

Montrell Teague drove three winners on the card. Ross Wolfenden, Victor Kirby, Mike Cole and Allan Davis won two races apiece.
