Latham, NY — David Hanson, Institute Manager of Morrisville Equine College, has announced the death of the 23-year-old Movie Mogul, who was humanely euthanized early Thursday morning (May 24).

Bred by Cantario Farms of Campbellville, Ontario, Movie Mogul was owned by Seth Rosenfeld of Los Angeles, Calif.

After a successful racing career, the then 11-year-old bay horse was sent to Morrisville to begin his stallion career. Movie Mogul covered mares until 2007 after which he continued to reside at Morrisville, teaching students to handle and collect stallions in the breeding shed.

“He was a loved part of the stallion barn with his “teddy bear” appearance and personality to match,” stated Hanson.

During his stallion career, Movie Mogul sired 132 registered foals, of which 85 starters earned $3,348,622.
