Driver Shawn Gray left with Mr Dunnigans and settled in second behind Manholmes (Bruce Ranger), who led the field to the quarter in :27.1. Positions remained unchanged to three-quarters, where the top two horses put some space between themselves and the field. At the top of the stretch, Gray tipped Mr Dunnigans and coasted right by Manholmes under a line drive to win by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:54.

It was the second win of the year for Mr Dunnigans ($3.60), who is also a perfect five-for-five in the money in 2022. George Bullukian owns the winner with trainer Alicia Gray.

Drew Monti and Bruce Ranger finished with two wins each on the afternoon card.

Racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Thursday (April 14) at 4 p.m.
