MSOA seeks executive director

Washington, PA — The Board of Directors of the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association (MSOA) announced today that it is accepting applications for the position of MSOA executive director.

The new executive director will succeed Kim Hankins, who has served in that position since 2007. This year, Hankins was named the Mary Lib Miller Awardee of the Keystone Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association, the organization’s highest honor. He also is a former Harness Horsemen International “Person of the Year.”

“We congratulate Kim on a remarkable career that has included almost every facet of harness racing,” said Richard Gillock, MSOA president. “We’re seeking candidates who can build on the leadership Kim has provided.”

The MSOA is a non-profit organization that represents the interests of approximately 700 Standardbred trainers, drivers, caretakers and owners at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. In addition to providing horses to race at The Meadows, the MSOA administers such member-centric services as health insurance and retirement programs for horsemen and horsewomen.

The executive director provides leadership for those day-to-day activities and also serves as liaison with Penn National Gaming (owner of The Meadows), the Pennsylvania Legislature and the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Commission.
