Multiple Carryovers, Guaranteed Pools at Pompano Wednesday

Pompano Beach, FL — The first few races on Tuesday evening (Feb 23) were rather formful at the Isle Casino Pompano Park, but the train went off the tracks in the fourth race when Certain Potential (Sergio Corona) picked up the pieces late to score a 118-1 upset by a head over the even-money favorite Big Package (Kevin Wallis).

Certain Potential’s $238 win mutuel was the highest of the season at Pompano, triggering carryovers in the 50 cent Pick-5 and the nightly Pentafecta.

The 50 cent Pick-5 will feature a $7,749 carryover into Wednesday evening (Feb 24), with track officials placing an ‘instant guarantee’ of $30,000 on the total pool. The Pick-5 begins on the first race of each live racing card. The 20 cent Pentafecta, featured on the fourth race of each program, will have a $4,467 carryover with track officials placing an ‘instant guarantee’ of $15,000 on the total pool. The Pentafecta requires fans to select the top five finishers in order.

Live racing continues at the Isle Casino Pompano Park on a five-night per week schedule, with a first post of 7:30 p.m. every Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening.
