Multiple carryovers, guaranteed pools, featured at Pompano Wednesday

Pompano Beach, FL — Several upsets early in the card on Tuesday (Jan. 12) left the 50-cent Pick-5 combination uncovered at the Isle Casino Pompano Park. The end result was a $3,573 carryover into Wednesday night, with track officials placing an instant guarantee of $15,000 on the total pool.

The Pick-5 is a nightly wager covering races one–five.

Part of the reason for the Pick-5 carryover was the 30-1 upsetter I’m A Gift (Donald Dupont) escaping with a nose victory in the fourth race. That upset not only sent the remaining live Pick-5 tickets overboard, but also created no winning tickets in the nightly pentafecta wager. The pentafecta is featured on the fourth race of every program, and is a 20-cent based wager requiring fans to select the top five finishers in order. Wednesday night’s fourth race pentafecta will feature a $3,729 carryover, with track officials placing an instant guarantee of $10,000 on the total pool.

The nightly Pick-4 begins with race six, featuring a low 12 percent takeout and only a 50-cent minimum. Wednesday night’s Pick-4 features a $7,500 guaranteed pool.

Last but certainly not least, the nightly Jackpot Hi-Five wager will offer a carryover of $23,762 into Wednesday night’s ninth race finale.

Live racing continues at the Isle Casino Pompano Park five nights per week, with a first post of 7:30 p.m. every Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening.
