Seal Kronos, an Italian bred colt sired by Muscle Hill, was sold for $128,000 at the Kolgjini sale in Sweden on Friday night (August 31).

The sale was arranged by the charismatic Swedish trainer Lutfi Kolgjini and 50 yearlings were in the catalogue, bred in Sweden, Italy and France.

The sales topper was the French bred colt Bellini Face, sired by the French champion sire Coktail Jet and out of the very good mare Nouvelle Aventure. He was sold for $166,000.

Kolgjini bought Nouvelle Aventure in January 2011 at the Prix d’Amerique sale for $210,000, so he nearly got his investment back in selling her first foal.

The buyer was the Denco HB Stable of Gothenburg, who also bought Italian bred Seal Kronos, sired by Muscle Hill and out of Beauty America, for $128,000, the second highest price at the sale.

Beauty America was bred by Hall of Famer Lou Guida and took a mark of 1:57f and has earnings around $550,000. She is sired by Pine Chip and out of Meadowbranch Emily, she by Prakas and out of Delmonica Hanover.

A filly sired by Muscle Hill, Sparkling Kronos, out of the German mare Firabella, was sold for $83,000.

A total of 45 of the 50 yearlings in the catalogue went through the ring; 42 were sold and the average price was $34,425.
