Mystical Peter overpowers Meadows feature field with first-up burst

Washington, PA — Mystical Peter unleashed a powerful uncovered move down the backside that gobbled up the leader and carried him to an impressive victory in Wednesday’s (Oct. 26) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $15,400 Conditioned Trot.

Mystical Peter was fifth when Dave Palone sent him after Believer on top. The 6-year-old Uncle Peter-Love Me Two Times gelding met little resistance and opened a daylight lead in the lane, scoring by 4-1/4 lengths in 1:55 over a “good” surface. Icanflylikeanagel rallied for second while Rising MVP shook loose late to complete the ticket.

Todd Keith owns and trains Mystical Peter, who triumphed for the third time in his last four starts and pushed his career bankroll to $213,189.

Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. and trainer Ron Burke teamed for three wins on the 12-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the 12-race program features a pair of carryovers: $11,236.35 in the final-race Super Hi-5, $6,740.83 in the Jackpot Pick-5 (race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
