Duca and Jack Moiseyev were impressive on Tuesday at Mohawk.

Duca ($3.20) and driver Jack Moiseyev had the rail and put in a sparkling effort during the fourth race, which was for five-year-olds and younger who were non-winners of C$37,000 lifetime.

Pacing to a new life’s mark of 1:522, the gelded son of Western Hanover who is trained by Nat Varty went to the lead from third after the quarter mile had been reached in :28 seconds flat. Owned by New York’s Jeffrey Snyder and Ontario’s Lothlorien Equestrian Center, Duca put in middle panels of :57 and 1:242 before coming home easily with a :28 second final panel.

Allamerican Cobalt (Randy Waples, post two) and Duke Of Luck (Mike Saftic, post nine) finished second and ninth respectively during the third dash, which was for four-year-olds and younger who were non-winners of two races or C$15,000 lifetime.

Allamerican Cobalt, a half-brother to Eternal Camnation, cut the opening panel in :271 and then assumed the two hole the rest of the way. He eventually finished two and a quarter lengths back in the 1:531 mile. Duke Of Luck was fourth at the half mile marker before starting a first over advance. He eventually finished 13 lengths back.

Lucky Jackpot (Randy Waples, post nine) and Osage Hanover (Roger Mayotte, post 10) finished sixth and fifth respectively during the seventh race of the night (five-year-olds and younger, non-winners of two races or C$37,000 lifetime). The dash was won by P H Top Dog in 1:524. The three-year-old gelded son of The Big Dog is now unbeaten in all eight of his starts this year after winning four of five as a two-year-old.

Lucky Jackpot finished five and a half lengths back after sitting eighth for most of the mile. Osage Hanover came home with a lot of pace and finished two lengths back.

The Panderosa colt The Preacher Pan (Chris Christoforou, post two) finished three lengths back in third during the ninth race, which was out of the retention barn and for five-year-olds and younger who were non-winners of three races or C$75,000 lifetime. Dream Possession emerged victorious in the mile, which produced a C$2,140.50 triactor and the second biggest superfecta paid out on the WEG circuit this year. The superfecta returned C$78,897.25 (the whole pool) to an individual who paid just a buck for the ticket.
