Nashville Bound and Noble’s Finesse take OBC colt paces

Delaware, OH — Nashville Bound (Kurt Sugg) was the quickest in a wild finish in the $77,700 Ohio Breeders Championship for sophomore pacing colts on Thursday (Sept. 24) at the Delaware County Fair.

In mid-stretch five pacers were across the track and Nashville Bound came out the best in 1:55.4 over Friskie Bob (Tim Tetrick) and Chief Talkalot (Brett Miller).

Nashville Bound won for the 11th time this season for Lori Hamlet and trainer Eric Hamlet.

In the first division, Noble’s Finesse and Kurt Sugg had to work hard for the lead. After he cleared the field before the quarter-mile pole, the gelded son of Feelin Friskie defeated Rock N Randall (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) in a lifetime best 1:55.

Noble’s Finesse is owned by Dean Davis, Joyce McClelland and Mullett Stables.

Friskie Lil Devil takes fastest division of OBC 3-year-old filly pace

Friskie Lil Devil and Ronnie Wrenn Jr. went gate-to-wire to win a division the $77,600 Ohio Breeders Championship for 3-year-old filly pacers over the pocket sitting Bell Flower (Chris Page) in 1:54.2.

The Lil Devil Stable owns the Feelin Friskie lass who established a new lifetime mark.

Friskie Buckeye scored an off the pace victory in the second division.

Sectionlinefriskie (Greg Grismore) was fired off the gate’s wings and led the field until deep stretch, when Brett Miller and Friskie Buckeye swept past the leader in the shadow of the finish line in 1:56.

Friskie Buckeye is owned by Bruce Soulsby and trainer Virgil Morgan, Jr.
