Hamburg, NY — New Album, a Western Terror filly, out of the Falcon Seelster mare Always Remember, won the $21,357 first division of the New York Sire Stakes for 3-year-old pacing fillies in 1:55 for owners Jeffery Bamond, Mark Kesmodel, and the Baron Racing Stable at Buffalo Raceway on Sunday afternoon (June 5). The winning time eclipsed the former track record of 1:55.2, held by Cannae Cindy, which she set in 2006.

New Album scored in a track record of 1:55 on Sunday at Buffalo.

“I just wanted to get her through that first turn nice and easy,” said winning driver Jason Bartlett. “After I brushed her to the lead, she was on cruise control. She finished strong and the outcome was never in doubt.”

All About Kisses (Stephane Bouchard) finished second and Winback Corazon (Phil Fluet) came in third.

Trained by Kesmodel, it was the fourth win in five attempts this year for New Album, who won $68,593 last year, predominately on the New York Sire Stakes circuit.

In other Sire Stakes action, new executive director Tim Gordon handed out Sire Stakes blankets to the following lucky winners: OK Dynasty (Scott Young), who went wire-to-wire in 1:57.2 for owners Robert Young, Peter Berry, Brian Barton and the Oak Knoll Stables; Tiamo (Stephane Bouchard), who won by 4 1/4 lengths in 1:57.4 for owner George Zitone; Ms Perfect Circle (Jack Flanigen), who won by a nose in 1:58.4 for owner Fortunate One LLC; From The Start (Stephane Bouchard) who won in a lifetime best 1:56 for Dean LaClair; Southwind Jazmin (Jason Bartlett), who stopped the timer in 1:56.3 for owner Rick Phillips; and Haze’s Zure Bet (Jim Devaux), who won in 1:56 for owner Purple Haze Stables LLC.

Racing will resume on Wednesday (June 8) with first post scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
