New club, new date for SRF’s charity golf outing

from the Standardbred Retirement Foundation

Hamilton, NJ — The Standardbred Retirement Foundation will host their 20th annual charity golf tournament on Tuesday (June 5) at the beautiful and private Battleground Country Club in Manalapan, N.J.

This year’s presenting sponsor once again is the generous Valley High Stable. SRF is seeking sponsors for its million dollar shot, $50,000 hole in one, and for other fabulous items. Sponsorships range from $5,000-$500. Gift and auction items are also being sought such as tickets to sporting events, travel tickets/packages, dinners, memorabilia and other popular items to help in the auction, for prizes, and the raffle.

New this year is SRF’s online auction of the fabulous items that will also be available at the golf outing. For those who cannot attend the golf event, bidding online at SRF’s golf bidding webpage is the next best thing. Opening in early May, access can be made by going to SRF’s website at www.adoptahorse.org which will direct you.

Past items included a UFO sulky, service from many well known industry veterinarians, training fees, boarding at training facilities, layups at farms and rehabilitative centers, a Pennsbury jog cart, Elite harness racing wheels, Harvey Gear, Bow River jewelry, Giants tickets, artwork and many other exciting items.

Greens fees, cart, lunch, hors d’oeuvre and cocktail hour, dinner, charity auction, trivia, and all the fun is just $215 per player if paid before May 30. Shotgun start is at 1:30 p.m.

All proceeds benefit SRF, the oldest, most productive, award-winning program of its kind dedicated only to non-competitive Standardbreds, securing lifetime care through adoption and semi-annual follow-up.

Unique in its work, SRF is providing the entire care for 155 Standardbreds, many deemed unadoptable due to age or injuries making them unattractive to adopters. This fund raising event assists in the cost of boarding, feeding, farrier, veterinary and dental care, vaccinations, managerial oversight for these horses which are being boarded at 17 different facilities, as well as oversight for follow-up of the past 2,400 adoptions since 1989.
