New conditions highlight Freehold’s latest sheet

Freehold, NJ – Not only does Freehold Raceway have increased purses, they’re rolling out some new conditions.

Starting with the condition sheet for the weekend of Friday (March 29), Freehold is introducing two brand-new classes. The first class is for horses who have a TrackMaster rating of 68 or less and will go for a purse of $4,200. Horsemen can find out their horses’ ratings by going to http://info.trackmaster.com/harness/reports/rating/.

In addition, a $4,000 claiming race has been added and carries a purse of $3,800. That race is on the sheet in addition to the already existent $5,000 claimer.

Last week, Freehold increased their purses by 50 percent. The earnings caps for conditioned races have been adjusted accordingly. The bottom class remains the same, while the next level up has been increased to non-winners of $2,500 in their last five starts, up from $1,500. The other levels have been changed to non-winners of $3,500 (from $2,500), $5,000 (from $3,500), and $6,000 (from $4,500) in their last five starts.

The bottom two classes have also been opened up: the non-winners of $1,000 last five race is also open to non-winners of $2,500 in 2019, while the non-winners of $2,500 race is open to non-winners of $5,000 in 2019.

Horsemen who have any questions can call the racing office at 732.252.2323. Post time for next Friday’s card is 12:30 p.m.
