New features added to HHBNYS Web site

from the Harness Horse Breeders of New York State

Latham, NY — The Harness Horse Breeders of New York State are pleased to announce two new features for their www.hhbnys.com Web site.

Web site visitors will have the opportunity to hypothetically match mares with the currently listed 85-registered New York-based stallions from the stallion menu section, which will be updated for the 2009 season.

The TrackIt hypothetical matching service is a useful informative tool for analyzing potential matings and for researching current pedigree profiles. A Standardbred industry organization, TrackIt provides in-depth information on North American harness racing, with racelines, breeding and foal reports, and race results updated in real-time.

Harness Horse Breeders of New York State President David Hanson encouraged the implementation of the hypomating service stating, “It’s important for breeding enthusiasts both in and out of state to be well informed when making breeding decisions. Educating is what the HHBNYS.com is all about and we want those deciding to participate in the lucrative New York program, whether as breeders or owners, to have every possible tool at their disposal.”

Another new feature added to the Web site is replays of New York Sire Stakes races. Starting with Sunday, June 8, replays of eight 3-year old trotting filly divisions now appear from three sections — Racing news, NYSS news and on the Sire Stakes menu page.

Hanson commented, “It’s fun for folks who can’t attend the races and don’t have access via cable television to have the opportunity to watch races soon after they are conducted. As it’s said, a picture is worth a thousand words and ability to view races provides a true evaluation of performances.”
