New horseshowing format to be held in New Jersey

Howell, NJ — On August 29, immediately following the ReRun Charity Horse show at the Horsepark of New Jersey, the Standardbred Pleasure Horse Organization of New Jersey and ReRun will host a new format of horseshowing.

It is a division containing seven varoius classes called “The Battle of The Breeds” open only for registered Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds.

Classes will be held as follows:

1. In-Hand (horses to be shown in halter or bridle)
2. Walk/trot Pleasure (any discipline)
3. Walk/trot/canter Pleasure (any discipline)
4. Walk/trot/canter Hunter hack
5. Command class
6. Down and back (one barrel, any discipline, hard hat required)
7. Ride a Buck (bareback, hard hat required)

Entries can be made to either organization and all entry fees ($10/class or $50 for all seven classes) will be donated to the winning breed’s organization. (Best of seven classes). Ribbons and prizes will be awarded in every class. A buffet style BBQ in the pavilion will be available after the show; cost will be $15 for adults, $10 for children.

ReRun recently leased 40 acres that is part of the historic Dancer Farm in New Egypt, N.J. The farm is currently the home of a 10-room luxury Bed & Breakfast Inn, the Laurita Winery, the Reindancer Therapeutic Riding Center (which has a Standardbred in its program) and now ReRun at Reindancer. An open house is scheduled for Saturday, October 24.
