New Vocations auction set for Feb. 11-12

by Dot Morgan, executive director, New Vocations

Laura, OH — New Vocations 10th annual Stallion and Merchandise Auction will be held in conjunction with the winter Blooded Horse Sale on February 11 and 12.

Featured items include a Pennsbury Sport Trainer Jog Cart, a week for six in an oceanfront condo on Marco Island, and a week in the Turks. There will also be a variety of art, jewelry, memorabilia, tack, and gift items.

The stallion auction portion of the fundraiser begins online February 5 at www.ongait.com with 80 stallions in 11 states and Canada offered.

This is the last opportunity to purchase breedings to Conway Hall and Dragon Again. Both of these studs’ books are long since closed. I can’t thank Walnut Hall Ltd and Ed Mullinax enough for these generous donations.

Both auctions conclude Tuesday, February 12, at 2:00 p.m. For those unable to attend the sale, bids for breedings and merchandise may be called into the New Vocations office at (937) 947-4020 through Saturday, February 9.

New Vocations leads the nation in racehorse adoptions, placing over 300 horses annually in carefully screened and monitored homes. This is our most important fundraiser of the year and the very lifeline of the Program. We’re extremely grateful to all the stallion owners, breeders, trainers, concessionaires, and other individuals that support this event.

New Vocations is still seeking donations, so please call (937) 947-4020 if you have something to send or bring to the sale. Donations are tax deductible, and all proceeds go toward the care and placement of retired racehorses.
