New Vocations stallion auction in progress

from New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program

Laura, OH — Breedings to Deweycheatumnhowe, Conway Hall, Dragon Again, Cam’s Card Shark, and Jailhouse Jesse are among the 84 seasons donated to New Vocations 13th annual stallion auction. The auction is in progress online, now, via www.ongait.com and runs through 2 p.m. Feb 8.

“This is our most important fundraiser of the year,” said Executive Director Dot Morgan. “We have a great list of stallions, and it’s a real opportunity for breeders, both purchasers and donors, to help with the racehorse adoption effort. We ask participants to please bid generously, as all proceeds go toward the care, retraining, and placement of retired racehorses.”

People are asked to be considerate and not bid for mares over 20, ones that have been barren two or more consecutive years, or those that are already booked. A 10 percent or minimum $100 deposit is due with the purchase of a breeding. The balance is due to New Vocations with the birth of a live foal. Breedings are for the 2011 season, only.
