Nine $10 win payouts at Rosecroft on Wednesday

Ft. Washington, MD — Rosecroft Raceway continues to be one of the hidden values in harness racing. A great racing surface, full fields of eight to nine horses every race, and Wednesday night (Oct. 24), it was value city to the bettor.

Nine of the 13 races produced win wager payouts of $10 or more, and the opener blew the lid off the pari-mutuel windows.

Timmy Offutt and Green Eyed Lady had an adventurous trip to the finish line where she paid $229.40 to win in the opener.

Getting away last, she and three others were abruptly bothered by B N Hopeful and Patronne Seelster hooking wheels on the way to the half. Offutt sent his charge to the outside and got cover from heavy favorite Lioness Hanover who was battling pacesetter Ideal Paper.

Ideal Paper proved too stubborn for the favorite to clear and Offutt rallied Green Eyed Lady wide off the final turn to edge Lioness Hanover (Russell Foster) and pocket sitting Plain Old Jane (Jared Moyer) in 1:56.4 for owner-trainer Phillip Jasper.

Justin Vincent scored a big win with Kissmeonmytulips for Bethany Gray and trainer Amy Devincentis, winning a six horse photo in 1:58 on a 48 degree night. After getting away fourth, Vincent got shuffled out the back door next to last and swung six wide off the final turn to win a thrilling finish over Its Casual (Jason Green) and Lima Illusion (Timmy Offutt). The daughter of Up Front Brad paid $28.20.

In the 10th race feature for mares, a $9,000 conditioned event, Jason Thompson and Rowdy Patti uncorked a tremendous rally from last at the three-quarter mark and caught KG Rocks in the final 16th of a mile to light up the board to the tune of $50.40. Thomas Kiernan owns the mare by Roddy’s Bags Again who is conditioned by Sam Belote.

Thompson also nailed the finale with Tom’s Tarzan ($10.40) which finished off a training triple for Brian Wright.

Russell Foster had three wins, Dixie Thunder ($16.40), Sum For All ($3.40), and Junkyard Treasure ($8.00). Frank Milby had three wins, Tom’s Twilight ($6.60) Cedar Hall Heriess ($10.60), and Tom’s Tornado ($19.00).
