No Deathly Hallows for Look To Book
July 21, 2007,by Keith Gisser, director of publicity, Northfield Park
Northfield, OH — While Muggles across America “looked to book” Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, Gerald Goldberg’s pacing mare Look To Book ($2.40) was weaving some magic of her own, winning the $7,500 Mares Open Handicap on Friday (July 20) in 1:55.4 over the Flying Broomsticks, err, Turns of Northfield Park.
Look To Book cast her spell over the competition, moving from fifth to first with a devastating move heading toward the half. Still Standing finished second and Cam U Stand It got the show spot.
Elliott Deaton drove Look To Book, who is trained by his brother Mark, to her sixth win in 24 seasonal starts. The Nobleland Sam 6-year-old has deposited $121,166 in Gringott’s Bank in her career and shows no sign of quidditching, err, quitting (sorry!).
