No SBOA elims needed

Campbellville, ON — Compact groups of nine and seven entries of Ontario’s best bred fillies will report directly to the SBOA finals on Friday, August 27, at Mohawk Racetrack in their respective divisions.

Nine filly trotters will contest for C$168,383 and it appears to be a wide open affair without the likes of Poof She’s Gone and Cross Of Lorraine.

The Carl Jamieson pupil Cross Of Lorraine tied the Mohawk Racetrack track record in 1:52.4 in her most recent start but was not kept eligible to the event. The million dollar winner Poof She’s Gone was eligible but was not entered after her uncharacteristic break in stride in the $750,000 Hambletonian Oaks final at the Meadowlands in her most recent outing.

The filly trotters appear alphabetically here: 1. Angostura; 2. Bertos Angel; 3. Highland Strikes; 4. Ipromisenottotell; 5. Kenu Dance; 6. No Magic To It; 7. Random Destiny; 8. Wilsonator; and 9. Woke Up Dreaming.

Trainer Casie Coleman will once again have another opportunity to finish 1-2 with Western Silk and Bay Girl headlining the C$164,383 pacing division.

The Fan Hanover Stakes winner Western Silk returned to the winner’s circle in her most recent event, the C$170,000 OSS Gold final for driver Mark MacDonald with stablemate and Canadian Breeders champion Bay Girl finishing second.

The talented 3-year-old pacers are listed alphabetically here: 1. Bay Girl; 2. Ice Ice Baby; 3. Perfune N Pearls; 4. Preppy Party Girl; 5. Tiz To Dream; 6. Western Silk; and 7. Windsong Grand Ave.
