No Vernon Downs tax relief as lawmakers adjourn

Columbus, OH — According to a report on cnyhomepage.com, New York State lawmakers adjourned for the year in Albany shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night (June 21) without passing the tax relief bill that Vernon Downs owner Jeff Gural wanted.

The measure cleared the State Senate, but it did not clear the Assembly.

Gural has said publicly more than once that if the Assembly were to adjourn for the year without passing the tax relief bill, he would close the racino property later this year.
