Noble has hot hands at Scioto Downs

from Eldorado Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH — Entering week three of The Eldorado Scioto Downs race meet a new reinsman has appeared on the top of the heap of The Downs’ ultra-competitive driver’s colony.

Dan Noble, who scored 12 driving victories last week, has 21 winning drives for the meet to take the lead over 2015’s champ Josh Sutton, who has 18 wins.

Tuesday (May 24) delivered the largest Pick-5 pool and payout of the meet. Tuesday’s Pick-5 wagering pool had more than $8,500 in it and when only one betting favorite took the last five races of the card, three astute handicappers cashed in for $2,417.55 for the 50-cent based wager.

As the holiday weekend approaches fans are reminded that racing will not only take place on Friday and Saturday evenings but also Monday afternoon (May 30).

Friday’s 14-race card is highlighted by the Open Pace for Fillies and Mares. Rock N Roll Xample looks to repeat over six rivals in Friday’s seventh race. Last week she took advantage of a hotly-contested pace to sweep the field, tripping the timer in 1:51.2 and delivering $8.80 on the $2 win ticket. Peter Wrenn will reprise his role in the bike for the 5-year-old Rene Allard trained mare.

Monday’s card will be highlighted by the first round of Ohio Sire Stakes action of the meet. The 3-year-old filly pacers will be in town to do battle on the Memorial Day matinee. The traditional holiday card will carry a first post of 2 p.m.

Please note Scioto Downs will be dark on Tuesday (May 31) due to the holiday action on Monday.
