Delaware, OH — Nomo Volo took the lead coming off the first turn and was unthreatened from there on her way to a career-best 1:56.4 win in Wednesday’s (Sept. 19) $40,918 Standardbred Stakes for 2-year-old female trotters at the Delaware County Fair.

Nomo Volo trotted to a career-best 1:56.4 win in the $40,918 Standardbred Stakes.

Summit City Swan finished second, beaten by three lengths, and Keystone Abbey was third.

Yannick Gingras drove Nomo Volo for trainer Jeff Edwards and owners Denise Dennis, Frances Wilson, and Dolne Farm Services. Nomo Volo, bred by Kentuckiana Farms and Jorgen Jahre Jr., is a daughter of Explosive Matter out of No I’m Not.

Nomo Volo has won three of 10 races this year and earned $64,463. Sent off as the 4-5 favorite, she paid $3.60 to win.

“She went very well out there,” said Gingras. “She has been facing a different level of competition and this could have been a step up for her but she handled it very well. Jeff (Edwards) told me she never gets tired so I drove her with that in mind.”
