Norris nabs two Sire Stakes wins at Pocono

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Driver Charlie Norris picked up victories in two of the four divisions of Pennsylvania Sire Stakes held at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Saturday night, August 7. The races, for 2-year-old trotting fillies, carried purses ranging from $69,733 to $70,134.

Norris drove Red Rum Lass, an 18-1 longshot that he also trains, to a front-running Sire Stakes win in 1:59.4 He later guided Jogging Home, trained by Marty Wollam, to a rallying victory by a nose in 1:57.4, the fastest winning time of the four stakes races.

The other two splits were captured by Hot Off The Press, trained by Frank Ingrassia and driven by Jacqueline Ingrassia, in 1:58.2 and My Minnie Chip, trained by Bruce Riegle and driven by Matt Kakaley, in 1:59.1.
