Northfield Park to host first qualifying tourney of 2014 WHHC

Northfield, OH — Thursday, January 30, 2014, Northfield Park will be hosting the initial leg of the USTA’s 2014 World Harness Handicapping Series. The series, featuring 10 different tracks is free to enter. The winner of each contest earns an entry ($800 value) into the $60,000 World Harness Handicapping Championship final at the Meadowlands, to be held Saturday, April 19, 2014.

Contestants who would like to register for the World Harness Handicapping Series Qualifiers, sponsored by the United States Trotting Association, can do so at www.horsetourneys.com. Entries for this on-line contest are limited to the first 1,250 handicappers on a first-come-first-serve basis and are available now.

For Thursday’s Northfield contest, each handicapper will select one horse (and an alternate in case of a late scratch) for a $2 win and $2 place wager on each race. All on-line selections need to be submitted prior to post time of the first race. The contest will be limited to 12 races.

Northfield plans to offer fifteen (15) filly and mare pacing events on the Thursday night program with a first race post time of 6:00 pm. Contestants receive Free TrackMaster Platinum Past Performances of the entire Northfield card when they become available approximately 48 hours before the contest.
