Northfield, OH — On Friday (Aug. 23), Northfield Park will host two divisions of Ohio Sires Stake action as part of the 14-race program. This will be the fourth leg of the Sires Stakes for the sophomore fillies.

Trotters begin Friday’s stakes action in the evening’s eighth race. The field of nine vies for a purse of $35,000. Contessa Leigh (Full Count-Howl) has been made the overwhelming 3-5 morning line favorite. She races for Northfield Park Wall of Fame trainer Marty Wollam, who co-owns the filly with G&B Racing. Wollam has enlisted the services of Chip Noble.

Contessa Leigh has won six of seven races this year and 11 of 14 lifetime. She starts from the rail and enters this event on a five-race winning streak. Contessa Leigh has a career bankroll of $182,086 and has a 1:56.4 lifetime mark trotted at Scioto Downs on July 6.
