Northfield to host Ohio Sires Stakes freshman fillies on Friday

Northfield, OH — On Friday (July 19), Northfield Park will host five divisions of Ohio Sires Stakes racing action as part of the 14-race program. This will be the second leg of the Sires Stakes for the freshman fillies.

Freshman filly trotters will start Friday’s stakes action in race one for the $30,000 first division. Rose Run Princess (Trainforthefuture-Cinder Char) is the 2-1 morning line favorite for owners Jennifer Keller and Jerry Bell. Devan Miller is the filly’s trainer and has enlisted the services of Northfield Park’s leading driver, Chris Page. Rose Run Princess makes her third lifetime start, finishing fourth at the Pickaway County Fair and posting a 2:02.4 victory in Ohio Sires Stakes action on July 4 at Scioto Downs. Rose Run Princess will start from post six.

Also competing in the first division will be Maes Perfect Storm, Dellou, Emilene’s Future, Hush Hush Chip and Cookie N Ice Cream.

Race two will be the $30,000 first division for 2-year old filly pacers. Trainer Mike Conklin will start Paydaze On The Way (Look Sharp-Shantytown Girl) as the 3-1 slight morning line favorite. Paydaze On The Way starts from post three and faces five rivals. Paydaze On The Way shows one raceline, a runner-up effort on July 4 in the Ohio Sires Stakes at Scioto Downs. She was closing well in the stretch, missing the win by a neck and pacing in 1:57.3. Dan Noble is scheduled to drive for owner Karen Rose.

R Spunky Girl, Ataway Samantha, Fayco Filly, Crown Time Keeper and Friskie’s Angel complete the lineup.

Trotters return to the stage in race three for the $30,000 second division of the Ohio Sires Stakes. Iron Princess (Iron Duke-Kiwi Song) is the 2-1 morning line favorite for owner/trainer Ron Randall. Iron Princess has two previous races, posting wins at the Putnam County Fair and a 2:04.3 effort at Scioto Downs in Ohio Sires Stakes action. Driver Greg Grismore will start the trotter from post four in a field that consists of Hurricane Honey, Emery Jean, Rockin H Marsha K, Anniesbluejeanbaby and O I M Bad.

Trotters again compete in race five for the $30,000 third division of the Ohio Sires Stakes. In The Grippers (Steven One-Over Baked) starts from the rail and is the 5-2 morning line favorite. She is owned by Herres Stables, LLC and is trained by Virgil Morgan, Jr. Morgan has called upon Chris Page to drive. This filly has one lifetime start, winning in 2:04 in the Ohio Sires Stakes at Scioto Downs.

In The Grippers’ rivals consist of MJs Victory Jody, Greased, Turbochargedroxie, Dohooray, Mclean and Surebecoolifudid.

Race six will host the final Ohio Sires Stake race of the evening with the $30,000 second division for 2-year-old filly pacers. Friskie Six (Feelin Friskie-KJ Six) is the 5-2 morning line favorite for owner Larry Six. Travis Redden trains the filly and uses Tony Hall to drive. This freshman has raced two times, finishing second at the Pickaway County Fair and again finishing second in a $30,000 Ohio Sires Stakes race at Scioto Downs.

Friskie Six starts from post four in a talented field consisting of Pretty Dreamboat, Nancy’s Stitches, A P P Panda, Spiffy Sam, Rosy Fire and Baby Slider.
