Northville, MI – Northville Downs wraps up its 2022 meet this coming Friday (Dec. 16) and Saturday (Dec. 17) with 11 races on each night’s program.

Friday features the ever-popular Dollar Night which includes $1 live race programs, $1 pop, $1 popcorn, and $2 hot dogs. On the race schedule for Friday, there are 11 races starting at 7:30 p.m., including the co-featured $10,800 F&M Open Pace in race six and the $10,800 Open Trot in race nine.

With this weekend being the final cards to be contested at Northville in 2022, three Standardbreds will make their final career starts over the Michigan oval as each horse will be turning 15 years old on Jan. 1 and will be required to retire from racing. Northville will honor each retiree by reading a tribute prior to their respective races on Friday and Saturday night. The three retirees are Empire Earl N, Hopetobefirst  and Bold Decision.

The Northville, Mich. oval will return for live racing in 2023 on Friday (April 7). Northville will race every Friday and Saturday night through Sept. 30. First race post time each race night in 2023 will be 7 p.m., which differs from the current 2022 schedule. Fans can still tune in to fun and random videos and posts by Michigan harness racers on the new TikTok page @GetYourHeartRacingMI during the down time from January through March to keep themselves entertained while awaiting live racing’s return in the spring.
