Norwegian Muscle Hill mare is still undefeated after 15 races

Hillary BR, a 4-year-old daughter of Muscle Hill and out of Fiery Chip, she by Pine Chip, has never lost a race.

Sunday afternoon (Sept. 8) Hillary BR, driven by Magnus Teien Gundersen and trained by his father, Geir Vegard Gundersen, took her 15th win in the mares division of the Norwegian Trotting Derby at the Bjerke track in Oslo.

Hillary BR has several times showed that she is in a class of her own, and she did so again Sunday by winning with open lengths in the 1-5/16 mile event in 1:55.4f (mile rate). Rebella Matters, who finished second, was timed in 1:57.2f.

Hillary BR, who earned $225,000 for the win, now has earnings of $433,000. She has a mark of 1:52.2f and is considered the best in the 2015 crop in Norway. She could have raced in the open Trotting Derby over 1-5/8 mile, but the purse in the mare division was the same as in the Derby.

And in the Derby, the Gundersen family had two other trotters who were in with a big chance, Noble Superb with Magnus Teien Gundersen and Max Brady with Geir Vegard Gundersen.

Geir Vegard Gundersen was able to fire Max Brady to the front as the gate left the field, and he managed to stay there past the post. Max Brady, sired by Cantab Hall, held off Eye of the Tiger with Dag-Sevinung Dalen, to win by a neck, timed in 1:59.4f (mile rate). Noble Superb, with Magnus Teine Gundersen, was an unlucky third as they never found racing room down the stretch.

The purse for the winner here was also $225,000.
