Freehold, NJ — Time will tell whether Not Enough is one of the best filly pacers in recent years. Then again, time is already on her side.

Not Enough heads to Sunday’s $350,000 Valley Forge at Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack an unblemished 10-for-10 this year and fresh off a world-record 1:49 victory in last weekend’s Mistletoe Shalee at the Meadowlands. Not Enough, trained by Tracy Brainard and driven by Tim Tetrick, raced first on the outside for the final half-mile and beat stablemate Yellow Diamond by a half-length.

Her time broke the record of 1:49.2 for a 3-year-old filly. The mark was shared by Incredible Tillie, Rainbow Blue, Hana Hanover and Happy Dreamer.

“She’s been super,” Tetrick said. “She doesn’t need a trip to win. She’s got high speed and she can carry it a long way. She’s a sweetheart to drive. And she wants to win. She’s been on her game and I hope she stays that way.”

Not Enough’s wins this season include the $591,600 Fan Hanover Stakes at Mohawk Racetrack, where she beat Yellow Diamond by a neck, the $293,970 Lismore at Yonkers, and the $167,327 Canadian Breeders Championship (in a stakes record 1:50). She has made $855,617 this year for owner Bulletproof Enterprises.

“She’s real push-button; you can start her up and she’ll relax for you,” Tetrick said. “She makes the driver’s job a lot easier because she’s pretty versatile.

“I know it’s going to take a pretty good one to beat her.”

Tetrick put Not Enough near the top of the list of 3-year-old filly pacers he has driven in his career, along with 2007 Dan Patch Award-winner Southwind Tempo.

“She’s got better credentials than a lot of them,” he said. “She’s close to (Southwind) Tempo, but I have a sweet spot for Tempo. I would like to have either one of them in my barn. I’m sure glad I get to drive both of them. Both of them are very nice. Whether Not Enough can make $2 million (lifetime) remains to be seen. Tempo is just a freak of nature.”

Among the seven fillies set to challenge Not Enough is Ginger And Fred, who has won five consecutive races. Ginger And Fred, trained by Ron Burke and driven by Dave Palone, has five victories and one second-place finish in seven career starts at Chester. Last year, she won the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes championship there.
