Manalapan, NJ — Nubble Light took advantage of a second-over trip, swept four-wide in the stretch and drew off to a one length victory in the $7,000 opening leg of the New Jersey Sire Stakes–Green Acres for 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Saturday (Aug. 30) at Freehold Raceway.

The gelded son of Rocknroll Hanover, driven by Steve Smith and trained by Deleston Cote, covered the third race mile in 1:56.3, putting away Earthshaker (Rocknroll Hanover). It was two lengths back to third place Sassy Hanover (Cam’s Card Shark), who cut the fractions.

Nubble Light picked up his fourth win with one second and three thirds from 15 starts in 2014, pushing his earnings to $20,729 for the year and $37,429 lifetime. He is owned by Cote, Henry Faragalli III, Trevor Johnson and Jeffrey Ruben.
