The 4-year-old Nuncio won his European debut at Solvalla on Wednesday night (April 22) in very impressive style. Driven by owner/trainer Stefan Melander, Nuncio won in 1:54f.

Nuncio was a winner in 1:54 for Stefan Melander.

Nuncio is now the “talk of the town” in Europe. Winning comfortably after having been parked out the whole trip and trotting without cover, he still managed to wear down some of the best trotters in Sweden.¨

“He amazed me,” Melander said afterwards. “Nuncio is not even close to his best form, but still he made such a fantastic performance tonight.

“We didn’t get the best trip. I had to choose to sit at the rail as number eight or go up on the outside. With 600 meters to go, Nuncio just started to trot faster and he went on to win very easy.

“I don’t know yet when I will race him next time, but I certainly look forward to drive him again.”

Nuncio could race in a fortnight in the eliminations for the Kings Trot at Aby and from there go to Elitloppet at Solvalla late May.
