NY Gaming Commission approves new request for Southern Tier casino applications

Schenectady, NY — The New York State Gaming Commission has approved a new Request for Applications for the fourth commercial casino license, to be located in the Southern Tier, thus formally opening a new bidding process.
Previously, the New York Gaming Facility Location Board unanimously approved the Request for Applications on Feb. 27, 2015.

The following are statements by New York State Gaming Commission Chair Mark Gearan and Gaming Facility Location Board Chair Kevin Law regarding a Dec. 26, 2014 letter from the Governor asking the Gaming Commission and the Gaming Facility Location Board to consider issuing a new Request for Application for the fourth and remaining gaming facility license in the Southern Tier.
