NYSS freshman pacers visit Tioga Downs on Sunday

Nichols, NY — Tioga Downs welcomes three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Sunday (July 29) at 1 p.m.

In the $36,566 first division, Major Blake (Tim Tetrick) is the morning line favorite at 5-2. The Art Major-Bet Your Life colt is owned by Matthew Bencic, Howard Berke and trainer Sam Schillaci. He has a win and a second in two starts. His win was in a leg of the NYSS at Yonkers.

The second morning line choice in the first division is the Ron Burke trained Bicorne Hanover (Matt Kakaley) at 3-1. He is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, James Martin and William Switala. The son of Art Major-Boldnbrash Hanover won a leg of the NYSS his last time out at Buffalo.

In the $36,566 second division, the morning line top choice is Buddy Hill (Scott Zeron) at 5-2. Owned by Tom Hill and trained by Chris Ryder, he has a win and a third in three career starts. He is a colt by Roll With Joe-Lessofit Hanover.

The second morning line choice is World On Edge (Matt Kakaley) at 3-1. Ron Burke trains this colt by Roll With Joe-Inanotherworld for owners Joe Di Scala Jr., J&T Silva–Purnell & Libby, Adriano Sorella and Burke Racing Stable. World On Edge is one for three with a win in a leg of the NYSS at Yonkers.

In the $35,866 final division, the big morning line favorite at 9-5 is Melodies Major (Tyler Buter). Owned by Marin Scharf and trained by Mark Ford, he is undefeated, three-for-three in his young career. The colt by Art Major-Hilarious has captured legs of the NYSS at Yonkers, Monticello, and Buffalo.

The second morning line choice is the Blake MacIntosh trained Jack Nation (Jim Morrill Jr.) at 5-2. Owned by MacIntosh, Hutt Racing Stable, Ridgeway Racing and Ozzie And Reg Stables, he has one win and two seconds in three starts. Jack Nation is a colt by American Ideal-Ladyjack. His win was in a NYSS race at Monticello. He has finished second twice to Melodies Major.
