Batavia, NY — With three track records falling already in the young season, Batavia Downs Casino and Racetrack welcomes another night of New York Sire Stakes racing on Friday (August 3).

Post time is 6:25 p.m. and includes a 13-race card with three Sire Stakes races for 2-year-old colt and gelding trotters. Friday’s program also includes four divisions of the Excelsior series.

The third race kicks off the Sire Stakes action and features a purse of $38,390.

The morning line favorite is the Credit Winner-Giza colt, Lindys Creditline. The Rob Harmon trainee comes off a narrow defeat to Explosive Action at Saratoga after breaking his maiden in a Sire Stakes event at Yonkers. Former Western New York regular Jeff Gregory gets the return call. Lindys Creditline drew post one.

Explosive Action switches to Jim Morrill, Jr. for trainer John Grasso. The Conway Hall-Yetta’s Angel freshman comes off back-to back scores at Yonkers (placed first through disqualification) and Saratoga. He drew post seven.

Heavily favored Tirade Hanover, coming off a track record performance at Saratoga, has been installed as the 3-5 favorite to win his $39,090 NYSS division, carded as race five.

The altered son of Crazed-Teagarden Hanover trotted to a 1:58.2 score which was his third victory during his five-race 2-year-old campaign. The Tyler Raymer trainee once again gets the services of Stephane Bouchard. He could take a serious run at Dejarmbro’s 1:58.4 Batavia juvenile record for colt and gelding trotters, set in 2010.

The final Sire Stakes race of the night, that carries a purse of $39,090, takes place during race number eight.

Royalty For Life starts out as the 2-1 morning line favorite for trainer George Ducharme. Vernon Downs regular Chris Lems will be in the bike behind the Royalty-Bourbon ‘n Grits colt, who starts from post eight. In five lifetime starts Royalty For Life has won four of them, with three NYSS wins.
