Berlin, MD — Due to heavy rains on the eastern shore of Maryland, Monday night’s (June 27) race card at Ocean Downs was canceled.

“The rains washed out the turns. What was left was unsafe conditions for drivers and horses,” said track general manager Peter Szymanski.

All parties, including horsemen and track management, agreed that was the best decision for all participants racing Monday night. After the early scratches, purse money will be divided up.

Racing resumes on Wednesday (June 29) with a post time of 7 p.m.
