Ocean Downs hosts 14 Maryland Standardbred Fund Stakes

Union Bridge, MD — Ocean Downs held 14 Maryland Fund Races on Saturday afternoon, August 7.

The fastest trot of the day went to Tough Challenger (You Betcha) for 3-year-old colt trotters in 1:59.3. This started a driving triple for Jim Morand. His other wins came from Status Symbol (CR Commando) in the 2-year-old filly trot and Me In The Spotlite (Cambest) in a 3-year-old filly pace.

John Wagner also had a driving triple with Winsmith Art (Real Artist) in a division of the 3-year-old colt pace, J A’s Ayd in a 3-year-old filly trot and Im The Cash Man (Cash Hall) in a division of the 2-year-old colt trot.

Ben Stafford, Jr. had a pair of wins behind Badlands Jenna (Badlands Hanover) in a 2-year-old filly pace and Lucky Land (Badlands Hanover) in a division of the 2-year-old colt pace.

Also with a driving double was Roger Plante, Jr. with Giddyallyougot (Cam’s Card Shark), a 2-year-old colt pacer, and with Red Oaks Chance (Wonder Dancer) in a division of the 2-year-old colt trot.

The fastest mile of the day was in a division of the 3-year-old colt pace. Southern Allie (Allie’s Western) crossed the wire in 1:56 with Frank Milby in the bike.
