Odds On Capitalism takes Nobleland Sam Final

Columbus, OH – The $30,000 Nobleland Sam final was won by Odds on Capitalism (Brett Miller/Virgil Morgan, Jr.) in 1:51.2 on Saturday (June 4) at Eldorado Scioto Downs. The series final was for 3-year-old colt pacers who are eligible to the Buckeye Stallion Series and did not start in the first leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes.

The gelded son of Fear the Dragon took the early lead in :28 and then let Robin’s Art (Tyler Smith) take over just before the :56.3 half. Odds on Capitalism stayed in the pocket while Art of Revenge (Dan Noble) challenged to the outside throughout the 1:23.2 three-quarters. At the top of the stretch, Miller angled Odds on Capitalism to the outside and won by a quarter length over Robin’s Art. Rock The Dragon (Chris Page) got up for third.

Odds on Capitalism is out of the Allamerican Ingot mare Soggy Britches. He has won four out of his last five starts, including a sweep of the series legs for $43,000 in seasonal earnings for owner Odds on Racing of Boca Raton, Fla.

Racing continues at Scioto Down on Tuesday (June 7). Included on the day’s card is the $30,000 John Konesky III final for Ohio sired non-winners of one filly trotters. There are two carryovers for Tuesday, including $1,411 for the Super High-5 in race four and $4,788 for the $1 Pick-8, which starts in race two.
