Off the bench, Windsun Tiara earns life mark in Meadows feature

Washington, PA — On the bench since Oct. 19, Windsun Tiara returned to the wars on a mission, earning a 1:52.4 lifetime mark — over a “good” surface — in Thursday’s (Dec. 28) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, an $11,900 conditioned pace for fillies and mares.

Windsun Tiara yielded to the pocket when All Of Me challenged for the early lead. But when Dave Palone pointed Windsun Tiara to the Lightning Lane, the 3-year-old daughter of American Ideal-Windsun Princess poured through and defeated the well-meant All Of Me by three-quarters of a length, with PJs Fancy Dancer third.

Thursday’s featured distaff pace at The Meadows was a coronation for Windsun Tiara, who earned a 1:52.4 lifetime mark. Chris Gooden photo.

Randy Bendis trained Windsun Tiara, who vaulted over $100,000 in career earnings, and owns with Pollack Racing LLC.

Jeremy Indof, Jack Killeen, Hunter Myers, Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and Palone enjoyed two wins apiece on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday (Dec. 29); first post is 12:45 p.m. Because Friday’s 14-race program is the last of the year, carryovers are not permitted, so the final Pick-4, Pick-5, superfecta and pentafecta all will be “must pay.”
