OHHA announces Holton as summer intern

Columbus, OH — The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association is pleased to announce that Hunter Holton, son of Ryan and Holly Holton, will be joining the OHHA as the 2016 summer intern.

Holton is from Etna, Ohio and just completed his sophomore year at the University of Notre Dame. A marketing major in the Mendoza School of Business, Holton’s professional goal is to obtain a sports industry marketing position.

Holton has experience in the harness racing industry having grown up in the family business and actively attending many of Ohio’s county fairs since his youth. He also has experience paddocking and jogging the family’s horses as well as in-house and promotional assistance with Scioto Downs Racino.

Some of the areas Holton will be focusing on this summer include taking the new OHHA Racing with the Stars tour to many county fairs, arranging meet and greets at the fairs with drivers, interviewing and preparing stories, photos and videos for OHHA’s social media sites as well as assisting the OHHA staff with summer event preparations and other Association business.

Executive Director Renée Mancino stated, “Hunter was a very strong candidate with excellent credentials, we look forward to him joining the team and welcome his experience, and tenacity, anticipating the valuable contribution to the Association’s marketing and outreach efforts we know he will make.”
