Ohio Sires Stakes highlight Scioto’s Friday card

from Eldorado Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH — With Eldorado Scioto Downs dark for live racing on Saturday (Aug. 20) due to a Jamey Johnson concert on the track, Friday’s (Aug. 19) action on the track takes center stage.

The highlight of the Friday stellar race card are two $40,000 divisions of Ohio Sire Stakes action for 3-year-old filly trotters.

In race two, A TC Queenie looks like a solid favorite over nine rivals. Trained by Ron Steck, she will be driven for the first time by Eldorado Scioto Downs current leading reinsman Chris Page.

In race three, Kestrel has been tabbed as the 5-2 morning line choice in a solid field of ten. Trained by Chris Beaver, she will again by driven North America’s winningest driver Aaron Merriman. She comes in off a six length triumph in State Fair Stakes action right here at The Downs, tripping the timer in a lifetime best 1:55.

First post time for Friday’s 14-race card at Eldorado Scioto Downs is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (EDT).

Next week Eldorado Scioto Downs returns to our regular racing schedule, with matinee action on Tuesday carrying a post time of 2 p.m. Harness racing action will be held in the evenings on Wednesday through Saturday, with a first post time scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
