Once again a Muscle Hill colt tops sale in Sweden

At the Elit Sale held in Stockholm on Friday night (May 25), the top price of $109,000 was paid for Foreign Rain, sired by Muscle Hill and out of Savvy Yankee.

At the Elit Sale held in Stockholm on Friday, the top price of $109,000 was paid for Foreign Rain.

Savvy Yankee has earlier brought top trotters like Knows Nothing by Kadabra 1:51.4s ($728,688) and Rocky Balboa 1:54.2s ($435,880).

The second highest price was paid for Celtic Tiger, a colt sired by Bold Eagle, who was sold for $91,500.

Five yearlings sired by Hambletonian winner Trixton were sold at an average of $35,400, while two yearlings sired by Father Patrick sold for an average of $48,000.

The sale average increased by 12 percent over last year to $24,680. While colts were in high demand and sold for an average of $31,200, the average price for fillies was just $17,650.
